Community Intiatives

Community programs emphasize educational achievement and encourage high levels of involvement in UNO schools. This cooperation helps solidify UNO schools as an anchor in the community.

Initiatives such as our annual Carrera de Los Muertos/Race of the Dead 5K not only encourage more interaction between the school, parents and community residents, they also help develop a strong base of UNO advocates. These advocates are critical to UNO’s ongoing efforts to replicate its school model throughout Chicago.
